I'm happy. As practically no one who reads this journal knows, my godfather is a professional storyteller (bet most of you didn't even know I had a godfather). I think this is very cool. In my unbiased as possible opinion my godfather is an excellent storyteller. Awhile back he put out a CD of fishing stories, and I did not buy it (bad goddaughter), but now I have money and can buy it and even found where to buy it. I can buy it here http://www.yellowmoon.com/1212OTH4.html (putting in the link so I don't forget and for anyone who cares). Also the magic of google has informed me of two performances of his in the near-ish future. I haven't seen him in a few years and more importantly I have not hear him tell stories in ages! I need to find out if he still does storytelling for the Peabody Essex Museum and if he still does storytelling on day cruises of the ocean near from Salem. I think either venue would be a fun place to see him perform. I'm trying not to get too hopefully about the CD, because while he is an amazing, amazing speaker, he is absolutely the best when doing in-costume story performances. He's going to be performing in Salem july 14th and August 4th at the Philip museum, http://www.phillipsmuseum.org/programs.htm and closer to home in Somerville January 31st (11am) http://www.phillipsmuseum.org/programs.htm must remember to go to these and tell family (and maybe drag friends). Okay I apologize for this extended note to-self post, but I needed to write this somewhere where I'll remember to follow up. and it makes me happy to write about Merrill.
