Mar. 18th, 2007 08:57 amFor those who don't know it yet Iam/Eukanuba and there 40 or so store name brands are recalling some cat and dog wet foods (mostly the cuts and gravy type) because their consumption has been linked with acute renal failure. Please keep an eye on your pets if they've eaten food affected by the recall (remember it's wet foods only) and call your vet immediately if you think they might be showing signs of renal failure (vomiting (more common in dogs than cats), anorexia (i.e. not eating),to name only a few, call your vet if you want to know what to look out for). Like most medical problems, acute renal failure does best with early treatment, and most vets are happy to answer questions over the phone if you are concerned but unsure if you should bring your pet in.
