Bahamas Days 1 & 2

So Sunday the 13th laurion dropped me off at the airport and I took Delta Song down to Fort Lauderdale. Let me just say that Song is really nice. Individual T.V. screens, 24 T.V. and radio channels, all very pleasant (except that all food cost money, not so much as a free bag of pretzels, just free drink). Flight was happily uneventful and the whole group had gathered together by about 3pm. One bag went missing but was returned by the next morning. We all squeezed into the hotel shuttle and went on our way. On the way to the hotel we saw an iguana sitting in the road, just taking in the sun and relaxing. Got to the hotel and found that their were very nice gift bags their, for someone else. Returned then without taking any chocolate. We all went out and had a nice dinner after getting settled in. Went and got a few last minute things and then tried to go to bed. Neither my roomate or I could sleep so we watched T.V. until 12:30 and then set the alarm for 4:50 because we were supposed to be in the lobby at 5:30am the next morning. We woke very sleepy got completely ready and then realized as we put our watches on that it was only 4:30am and our room clock was an hour fast, grr. Couldn't go to sleep so watched more T.V. We were the first down and no one else showed up until 6am. We all had breakfast and then left to catch our charter flight. We rode in 2 seven passanger bi-props down to San Salvador. After orientation and lunch at the research center we went swimming at a fringing reef. I immediately got my first sunburn as we were out from 12-4. We saw lots of cushion stars and a small (ish) baracuda. Found a tiny grasped crab and a sea pearl. Got a lot of blisters. We had dinner, lecture and then all fell exhausted into bed trying to figure out when we would study for our test in 2 days. I'll write up day 3 soon, it gets more interesting as it goes on.
