Sunday I was let fre early from work because nothing was bloody happening and so i helped [livejournal.com profile] laurion move some stuff and just relaxed and hung out with him mostly. that night I made angel food cupcakes and cake and mocha whip cream which I brought to work for my birthday the next day.

Work was goood, not too slow, got many happy birthdays and cake compliments. Around 12:30 I received a gorgeous bouquet of yellow roses (with golden rod and some purple flower i never remember the name of to make the rest of the bouquet) and vase from [livejournal.com profile] lebor he's absolutely the most wonderful boyfriend a girl could ask for. My 12 hour shift got cut short cause work was light again and i was told i could leave at 5:30. Called [livejournal.com profile] laurion to thank him for the flowers and see if he'd like me to come by, unfortunately he and the three other people I called had plans. I stuck around work until 7:30 and then went home.

On the way home I stopped at the Kappy's near my work to get the required 21st birthday alcohol. I wanted Harvey's Bristol Cream sherry but they didn't have any so I picked-up a six pack of Magners. I went to the counter with the new temporary liscence i'd gotten from the DMV that morning plus my old liscence just in case. As the cashier rung me up she informed me that MA law says that she can't accept the temp liscence (makes sense it's easy to fake) but she cannot except the old liscence either because it's expired. She cannot accept my international student's ID (has my date of birth) either. I forgot to ask if the passport would work, since i had it on me, but I doubt it. Effectively the law says that my state issued ID does not prove my age once it's expired which i think is stupid. Technically I should not be able to purchase alcohol until the new ID comes in the mail even though I'm of legal age. the cashier agreed it was dumb, let me get my beer and wished me a happy birthday. So frickin' stupid.

My parents gave me my birthday gift of Microsoft Office and Windows XP when they got home. Tuesday I got a card from my housemate, K. (she's on a road trip right now). I got a silver necklace of a whale's fluke from J. Went to dinner with my parents and my sweetie last night. Was on prescription decongestants so the plan of having Sangria with Venezulan food went out the window. Decided I didn't feel enough like enjoying chocolate flan to have Venezulan food at all (especially without the promised Sangria) and so we went to "Not Your average Joes". Dinner was good, they brought my chocolate cake with a candle, because [livejournal.com profile] lebor asked them too while I was in the bathroom, since i had been sad about not having a single candle for my birthday.

All in all I've had several good small birthdays. now I must turn my attention to figuring out what to do/get [livejournal.com profile] laurion for his up-coming Birthday in 2 weeks. August got here very fast.

I had the same thing happen to me when I switch my licsence to MA. It was so annoying.
You passport actually does work. My friend uses all thime because they give her a tough time with a NM liscence. But is silly they won't take the temp with back up.

I have a particular birthday to plan for on the 15th of next month and I am completely without even a semblance of clue. There's nothing like an upcoming birthday to remind you how little you really know about someone. Argh. Lame.

I'm sorry I didn't do anything fabulous for you or Shana. It's really sad that I'm looking forward to school starting again as being less stressful and busy than my life now. I should give you birthday rainchecks to take you out for nice desserts sometime when school gets to be just too much.
