This weekend was busy. Friday night was Suchi with numerous people at Ginza and it was fun and good. Saturday was the Greenwood Isle end-of-semester pizza party. We watched "A Knight's Tale" so we could pick on it. I had not seen it before. turns out I hyperventilate when "Chaucer" shows up and have to pet my copy of Katherine by Anya Seton to calm down. Spent most of the moving reading chunks of the book to myself to keep from freaking out by how blatantly they messed up history. I think ,[livejournal.com profile] kararm put it best when she described the movie as a sports flick that just happened to be set in the 14th century. I made dinner (kilbesa fried with potatos, onions, garlic and peppers, yummy) while my roomates cleared the junk form the back hall. I then tried to make my mom's favorite butter cookies ([livejournal.com profile] jpicon has a fondness for them too). The recipe does not give exact measurements for anything, one is supposed to add flour to the mix of clarified butter and sugar until they can form balls from it and then bake it. My first batch did not hold shape when baked so I added quite a bit more flour. The second batch melted into puddles too and so I cried and quit. A whole pound of butter that I clarified wasted and i'm too unhappy to try those damn cookies again so no butter cookies for mom this year :(.
Yesterday I worked and work was very very busy and not really in a fun way, but it ended up ok. After work was the office holiday party and it was a lot of fun. as usual got nice gifties. Came home and fell asleep instead of studying for my 17th Century Lit. final this morning.
Today I got to my 9am final at 9:10am, luckily the professor got there at 9:30 am. Final was ok, probably passed and hey at least it's done. I have a genetics study session in a few minutes and then i'm going home to either bake ginger cookies or lemon squares, still need to decide.

Your butter cookies are like crispy clouds of butter goodness. YUM! And I'm not over feeding the cat (wink)

I thought it was amusing in an alternate reality form of amusement. Chaucer makes me twitch at times, too. I mean reducing the foundation of English literature to comic relief... egads, even I wouldn't do that!
