Now that i've gotten over being happy and sleepy I can sit and write about the wonderful time I had Saturday at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. This is the third time I've gone and each year has had it's own pluses. Though originally scheduled as a six person outing it ended up being just a pair of couples ( me and
laurion and
ladysprite and her fiance). Because
laurion had to get keys to his new place ( which is really nice, and I swear I'm not just excited about the gas stove and the jacuzzi) and he and i had errands to run we ended up getting out on the road later than we had planned. We stopped at a rest stop on the way and had a picnic in the grass, which was lovely. The weather gods had smiled on us and the day was hot but not too muggy and the night breezey but without need of coat. Even though I didn't get to see The Nields, I got to see many others I enjoy and to wander and have fun. I bought more music than I should have and had a generally good time. We had to leave around midnight, which was halfway through Arlo Guthrie's set. We walked down the hill and across the street to the parking lot and our car, right as we started packing up we heard the sound of Arlo Guthrie and the 10,000 hillside people accompanying him singing "Fools Rush In" so clearly that we could sing along, it was lovely. So I was dead tired at work the next day and
laurion has no real memory of me getting out of bed and leaving, but it was totally worth the day.
